The most complete canvassing stack for outside sales teams, though map pin accuracy and support responsiveness are recurring complaints.

Pros

  • Territories can be drawn, rated and assigned on a map, with rep progress visible as they work an area
  • DataGrid AI scores neighbourhoods on likelihood to convert, which changes where a team knocks first rather than just recording where it knocked
  • Digital contracts with e-signature close the deal on the doorstep instead of scheduling a second visit
  • Appointment scheduling with Google and Outlook sync coordinates setters and closers in the same app
  • Storm and weather overlays with historical damage data give roofing teams a concrete targeting layer

Cons

  • Map pins are frequently reported as landing in the wrong place, especially in new developments, and clustering makes some areas hard to work
  • Support quality draws consistent criticism in reviews, with problems escalated and not resolved
  • The free Lite tier withholds data export, and the seat minimums plus per-user add-ons put the real cost out of reach for a small crew

What SalesRabbit actually does

SalesRabbit is built for sales that happen on someone's doorstep. The centre of the product is a map: territories are drawn, rated and assigned to reps, every house carries a status, and the office sees progress across an area in real time as reps move through it. Around that sits the rest of a door-to-door workflow - lead records with custom fields and photo attachments, appointment setting handed from a setter to a closer, digital contracts signed on a phone, and a performance layer that ranks reps and runs team competitions.

The data side is what has grown most. DataGrid AI attaches homeowner and business information to addresses and scores them on likelihood to buy, so a rep's route is ordered by propensity rather than by geography alone. Weather and storm tools overlay historical hail and wind damage, which is how roofing companies decide where to send crews after a storm. Mover data flags newly sold homes by postcode. The platform serves solar, roofing, pest control, security, telecom and adjacent home services, and there is a separate roofing-specific product with measurement and inspection tools.

Key features

The parts a field team touches daily:

  • Map-based territory creation, rating and assignment, with real-time rep location tracking
  • DataGrid AI homeowner and business data with buyer propensity scoring
  • Lead records with custom fields, file attachments, map overlays and a customer locator
  • Digital contracts built in a custom form builder and signed electronically in the field
  • Appointment scheduling with Google and Outlook sync, coordinating setters and closers
  • Amplify analytics, gamification, spot rewards and coaching for rep performance

Who it's for

This fits a company running organised outside sales at some scale: a solar installer with several knocking crews, a roofing company chasing storm damage, a pest control operation with seasonal hiring. The value is that a manager can see coverage and effort without phone calls, and that a rep can complete the whole cycle - approach, pitch, quote, signature - on one device. Companies with high summer turnover benefit most from the gamification and coaching layer, because it makes new-rep ramp visible.

It is a poor fit for inside sales or for any business whose selling happens over email and video; a conventional CRM handles that far better. It is also hard to justify for a very small crew. The free Lite tier does not allow data export, seat minimums apply to the features that matter, and the add-on applications are priced per user on top of the plan, so the total for a fully equipped team runs well above the headline seat price.

How it compares

SPOTIO is the closest direct competitor and generally the stronger integration story into Salesforce and HubSpot, with a similar canvassing map and less depth on homeowner data. Sunbase and Enzy target solar and roofing specifically and bundle proposal and project tooling that SalesRabbit keeps in its separate roofing product. A general CRM such as Pipedrive costs less and handles the pipeline competently, but has no concept of territory, canvassing status or rep location, which is the entire reason a field team buys here. SalesRabbit's edge is breadth across canvassing, data and contracts in one app.

Verdict

For a door-to-door organisation, SalesRabbit does more of the job in one place than anything else in the category, and the propensity data is a genuine improvement over knocking a street in order. Reps adopt it without much training, which matters when a company hires a summer sales force. The reservations are practical: pin placement errors in newer areas cause real friction on the ground, support has a weak reputation among reviewers, and the pricing structure with per-user add-ons and export restrictions on the free tier is less transparent than it first appears. Worth a paid pilot with one crew before rolling it out company-wide.
