FlexiQuiz review
Quiz and exam builder with light course delivery, certificates and cohort reporting for training teams.
A capable assessment builder at a fair price for training and screening work, though the interface is dated and every automation hook sits behind the top plan.
Pros
- Eleven question formats, including matching, picture choice and file upload, cover more assessment styles than most form builders
- Question bank with categories and randomised selection makes it practical to run the same exam repeatedly without recycling identical papers
- Certificates are generated from a custom template on a pass mark, so training records do not need a second tool
- Reporting breaks results down by question, by category and by individual respondent, which is what makes remediation possible
- The free tier is a real product rather than a countdown trial, capped by monthly responses rather than by features
Cons
- The REST API, webhooks and single sign-on are Enterprise-only, so on the lower plans there is no automated path into a CRM or HR system
- No built-in webcam proctoring, so high-stakes exams depend on a lockdown browser or a third-party invigilation service
- Design control is limited to logo, colours and custom CSS on the higher tiers, and reviewers consistently describe the interface as dated

What FlexiQuiz actually does
FlexiQuiz is a hosted quiz and exam builder aimed at people who need scored assessments but not a full learning management system. A test is assembled from eleven question formats, single and multiple choice, picture choice, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, free text and file upload, scored automatically against point values set per question, then published as a link, an embed on a company page, or an invitation sent to a named group.
Around that core sit the parts that turn a quiz into a training record. A question bank organised by category feeds randomised papers. Timers can be set per question, per page or per attempt, and attempt limits and access codes control who sits what. Groups hold cohorts of learners; learning paths chain lessons and tests into a short course and redirect a learner depending on how they scored. Passing generates a certificate from a template. Results land in a reporting area that breaks performance down by question, by category and by person, and the whole thing runs in a browser with nothing to install.

Key features
The feature set is wider than a form builder and narrower than a learning platform:
- Eleven question types including matching, picture choice, fill-in-the-blanks and file upload, each with its own scoring and feedback
- Question bank organised by category, with randomised selection and category-level score reporting for topic-by-topic remediation
- Learning paths that combine lessons and tests, with redirects that route a learner on their result
- Custom certificates issued automatically on completion or a pass mark, using an uploaded branded template
- Groups, self-registration and multiple trainer seats for running cohorts rather than one-off tests
- Stripe checkout for selling a quiz or course, with no commission taken on the sale
Who it's for
The natural buyer is a training or people team that runs the same assessment repeatedly: onboarding checks, annual compliance tests, certification exams, product knowledge quizzes for a field team, or a first-round screen before an interview. Because plans are capped by monthly responses rather than by admin seats, cost tracks how many people sit tests rather than how many staff build them, which suits a small L&D function serving a much larger workforce.
It is a poor fit for two groups. Teams that need assessment results to move automatically into an ATS, CRM or HR system will find the API, webhooks and single sign-on gated behind the top plan, and there is no native connector in the main automation directories, so the integration work falls on someone comfortable with raw webhooks. Anyone running genuinely high-stakes exams should look elsewhere too: identity checks stop at passwords, registration and access codes, and there is no webcam invigilation.
How it compares
Against Typeform, FlexiQuiz gives up polish and design range but adds the things assessment actually needs, question banks, pass marks, certificates and per-category scoring. Against a full learning platform such as TalentLMS or Docebo, it is far cheaper and quicker to stand up, but its course delivery is thin: lessons and redirects, not a curriculum, catalogue and compliance calendar. Against Google Forms it wins on scoring logic, branding and certification, and loses on collaboration and price. Classmarker occupies almost the same ground with a similar dated feel, so the choice between them usually comes down to response limits and how each one prices the volume of tests actually being run.

Verdict
FlexiQuiz is an unfashionable product that does an unfashionable job well. The builder is quick, the scoring model is more thoughtful than the price suggests, and the reporting answers the question a trainer actually asks, which is which topics the cohort failed rather than who scored what. The reservations are consistent: the interface looks a decade old, visual customisation is shallow, and the automation surface is reserved for the most expensive tier, so smaller buyers end up exporting spreadsheets by hand. For internal training and screening at modest volume it earns its place; for high-stakes certification or a workflow that has to feed other systems, the gaps are real.
