The rare notetaker built for how agency recruiters actually work, including mobile phone calls, though every plan carries a twelve-month term and a per-seat price well above general-purpose alternatives.

Pros

  • Captures mobile phone and VoIP calls, not only video meetings, which is where most agency recruiting conversations still happen
  • Recording is botless, so no meeting attendee appears in the room and candidates are not put on guard by a visible recorder
  • Writes structured notes and custom fields back into the ATS instead of leaving a transcript in a separate tool
  • Generates client-ready candidate submittals from the interview rather than requiring a recruiter to rewrite them
  • Native integrations with the agency-side ATS platforms, Bullhorn, Vincere, Crelate, Loxo, rather than corporate HR suites

Cons

  • Every plan requires a twelve-month term, and the seven-day trial is short for judging note quality across a real requisition cycle
  • Per-seat pricing is several times a general meeting notetaker, so the case rests entirely on the ATS write-back being used
  • Recording phone calls puts consent and retention obligations on the agency, which vary by state and country and are not solved by the software

What CoRecruit actually does

CoRecruit, previously called Quil, records recruiting conversations and turns them into the records an agency is supposed to keep. That covers video calls on Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, but the part that distinguishes it is everything else: VoIP calls, mobile phone conversations and in-person meetings. Agency recruiting still runs largely on the phone, and most meeting notetakers quietly assume a calendar invite with a video link, which leaves the majority of a recruiter's day uncaptured. Recording is botless, so nothing announces itself as a participant in the call.

What happens afterwards is the actual product. CoRecruit produces structured interview notes and a summary with action items, then writes them into the applicant tracking system, into named fields on the candidate or job record, not as a transcript pasted into a comment box. It also drafts the candidate submittal, the client-facing write-up that recruiters usually compose from memory at the end of the day, branded to the agency. The result is that the ATS reflects what was said while the recruiter was still talking to the next person, which is the difference between a searchable database and a graveyard of stale records. The company reports SOC 2 Type II certification and GDPR compliance, with encryption at rest and in transit.

Key features

The capabilities an agency uses daily:

  • Botless recording across video, VoIP, mobile phone calls and in-person conversations
  • Automatic detection of upcoming interviews through Google Calendar and Outlook
  • AI interview notes and post-call summaries with action items
  • Auto-generated, branded candidate submittals ready to send to a client
  • Write-back of structured notes and custom fields into more than forty ATS platforms
  • Included VoIP calling with unlimited US and Canada calls, plus clipped video snippets of candidate answers

Who it's for

This is squarely a staffing and search agency product. The economics work when a recruiter's output is measured in submittals per week and the administrative tail, writing up notes, updating the ATS, formatting a candidate summary, is what caps that number. Firms on Bullhorn, Vincere, Crelate or Loxo get the deepest version of the integration, and agencies where recruiters live on the phone rather than in scheduled video calls get the most from the recording coverage.

It suits corporate talent acquisition less well. In-house teams usually run structured video interviews on a scorecard inside a corporate ATS, and a general meeting assistant at a fraction of the seat price will cover that adequately. Small agencies of one or two recruiters should also do the arithmetic honestly: the per-seat price plus a twelve-month term is a real commitment, and it only pays back if submittals genuinely increase. Any firm operating in jurisdictions with two-party consent rules needs a recording disclosure process before switching this on.

How it compares

Metaview is the closest competitor, stronger on structured interview scorecards and in-house hiring workflows, and weaker on mobile phone capture and agency submittals. Fireflies and Otter cost far less and transcribe meetings well, but they stop at the transcript: no ATS field mapping, no submittal generation, no phone-call coverage, so a recruiter still does the data entry. Sense and other Bullhorn-adjacent tools cover candidate engagement rather than conversation capture and sit alongside rather than instead of it. CoRecruit's claim is narrow and defensible: it is built for agency workflows and writes into agency systems.

Verdict

CoRecruit solves a specific, expensive problem, recruiters losing hours to note-taking and ATS updates, and client records decaying because nobody wants to do that work at seven in the evening. Phone-call capture and submittal generation are the features that justify the premium over a general notetaker, and the ATS coverage is genuinely broad. The caveats are commercial and legal: a twelve-month commitment on every plan, a seven-day trial that is too short to judge note quality across a full requisition, and consent obligations for phone recording that remain the agency's problem. Trial it on your own noisiest phone calls, not on a clean video demo.
